About the Project
HwlaHwp.co.uk was asked to design, illustrate and publish a children’s book that tells the story of two young archaeologists, Mary and Jack, and their pet squirrel, Cyril.
The story was written by young primary school children and is a combination of a narrative and interesting facts.
One day, while at the museum, the children are magically transported to Ancient Egypt, where they encounter new adventures and learn interesting facts about the place and its history…

Additionally, to convey the dynamics of the story’s development over time, we suggested making a smooth transition in all the illustrations from daytime to evening by changing the lighting and darkening the sky as the day progressed.
